The Sun Drop brand was developed in St. Louis, MO by Charles Lazier, a salesman of beverage concentrates.
In the early years, Sun Drop was known by several different and sometimes interchangeable names such as Golden Cola, Golden Girl Cola, Sun Drop Golden Cola, Sun Drop Cola, and Golden Sun Drop Cola.
The company name was officially changed to Sun Drop Bottling Co., Inc. signifying that the Sun Drop brand had become their best selling product by this time.
Crush International acquired the Sun Drop brand and standardized its name, packaging and advertising.
